KS2 Speaking Competition
Dear Parents / Carers,
Our former Headteacher, Mr Fox, will be continuing his yearly competition to encourage good presentation skills. The competition will be open to Years 3 to 6.
Please see the video here: Video
Mr Oldershaw explains the competition.
Any children who would like to take part will need to prepare, for homework, a 3-minute presentation on a subject of their choice - something that interests them - a hobby, sport, a current affairs theme, etc. They will not be allowed to have notes, but bullet points may be used as prompts on small cards and / or an object could be used.
Each presentation will be judged on the entrants ability to convey meaning and enthusiasm.
Children learning at home can send a video of their presentation to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org between 29th June and 7th July.
Children in school will show the teachers by Weds 8th July.
Once all of the presentations have been watched, one finalist from each class will be chosen to present their talk to Mr Fox and Ms Pendrey on Tuesday 14th July. They will watch the video OR listen to the child in school.
They will then decide on ONE winner will from each year group and will receive a voucher (£60).
Prizes awarded in school on Wednesday 15th July or delivered to your home.
Good luck with your presentation.
