Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be confident, happy citizens. We want every child to achieve the best they can!

Our school motto is:

Go Forward!

We feel that we enable children to achieve this by providing a broad and balanced education and fulfilling their needs in a stimulating and caring environment. Children, staff and parents work actively in partnership to enable all children to realise their potential within the school. With this in mind, all children and adults are valued, respected and welcomed to the school. We encourage children to develop personal qualities such as responsibility, self-discipline, self esteem and co-operation thus equipping them for life in the future. Learning is fully supported to ensure that they are fully included in all aspects of school life.

Our Six Values

We have a set of six values that were identified by the children of our school.

One of our year 6 children looked at the Roding Primary School badge carefully and noticed six things which look like either waves or fish within the badge. He then went on to think about what these six things could stand for. His idea was that each wave/fish should stand for an important school value.

The school council led the identification of the values with each of the classes, a final vote decided that the values would be:

Day-to-day at Roding

At Roding Primary School we continually monitor the progress of all the children. Each term we have pupil progress meetings to evaluate their ongoing assessment and identify appropriate interventions to ensure that they meet their potential in all aspects of the curriculum.

Interventions are utilised for children of all levels and abilities, whatever their additional educational need may be.

Within the school we strongly believe that all staff share a responsibility for the children’s welfare and the delivery of the curriculum. Your child/ren’s teacher is your first point of contact. Work is planned collaboratively within the year groups, with close liaison, communication and support from our Classroom Assistants. During planning, staff from other areas of the school may be utilised to provide additional expertise, knowledge and experience to ensure all work is relevant and well matched to the learning and development needs of the children. In this way, we are able to utilise the strengths of a large staff team and enhance the quality of the learning and teaching across both sites of the school.

We aim to maintain good liaison with parents, the local community and other stakeholders. We welcome your interest and positive involvement.
