Parents Evening

Why we hold parents’ evenings and termly reports

At Roding Primary we believe strong home–school partnerships help every child to succeed. Our parents’ evenings and report cards are designed so you can see how your child is learning, celebrate their progress and work with us on the next steps.

What to expect across the year

  • Autumn term — Individual parents’ evening with the class teacher, plus a termly report card.
Purpose: share how your child has settled, review early-year targets and set clear next steps.
  • Spring term — Individual parents’ evening with the class teacher, plus a termly report card.
Purpose: review progress against targets, discuss any barriers to learning and agree any support needed.
  • Summer term — One open evening for the whole school (showcase of work and highlights of the year) and an end-of-year report card which you may discuss with teachers.
Purpose: celebrate your child’s achievements, view classroom displays and books from across the year, meet next year’s teachers and talk through the end-of-year report if you wish.

How these events help your child

  • Keep you informed about attainment, progress and wider development (behaviour, wellbeing and personal development).
  • Make sure targets and support are shared clearly so home and school work together.
  • Give you a chance to meet staff, celebrate success and build relationships that support your child’s learning.
