The 13th November to 17th November 2023 is Anti-Bullying Week. The theme from the Anti-Bullying Alliance this year is Make a Noise About Bullying, which encourages children to speak up if they are being bullied or see bullying happening around them. On Friday 20th October 2023, Roding Primary School celebrated Show Racism the Red Card Day which is a nationwide initiative by theredcard.org to promote and raise awareness of anti-racism.  This year, we raised £205.91 which has been donated to theredcard.org. Year 4 children had a wonderful time visiting the mandir in East Ham.  This trip helped the children to consolidate their learning that they had been doing based on the topic of worship within the Hindu religion. School News

Children in Year 1 had a great day during the Africa Activities Day.  They took part in a range of activities including Adinkra art from Ghana, exploring clothing worn from different countries and regions, as well as learning to play the djembe drum. This was a great hands on learning School News

Our Year 5 pupils on both site received a visit from teachers and pupils from Eastbury Community school who spoke about the jump to secondary school. The children really enjoyed hearing about the experiences of the year 10 peer mediators and enjoyed listening to Mr Read and Steve, the learning School News

Congratulations! Our best Place of Worship entries were all sent into the wider Borough competition. Lots of schools entered and the competition was fierce, but these children have won for Roding! We would like to share with you some of the photos from our extraordinary day at Stubbers, on the 5th of June. Throughout the day, children enjoyed taking part in different activities including high ropes, kayaking, axe throwing, laser quest, canoeing, leap of faith as well as many others. Children had a visit from members of the Metropolitan police to talk about how to stay safe. Children in Key Stage 1 and Years 3 and 4 had the opportunity to discuss staying safe whilst they are out, and what they should do if they become separated from an adult School News

On Monday 15th May the year six boys at the Hewett road site secured a place in the football finals.  It was an exciting game from start to finish with the boys securing a victory against Hunters Hall School. The final score was 6 3. Usman scored a hat trick, Daniel, School News

In preparation for the King Charles III’s coronation, children across both of our sites have dressed in the colours of the Union Jack flag to celebrate this historic occasion.  As well as this, our school has been decorated with bunting and pictures of King Charles III.  The children really enjoyed School News
